If it has been some time since you have looked at any new cars, then you could be in for a pleasant surprise when you see the current technology. It's not as futuristic as George Jetson's ride that turns into a briefcase, but there are still some neat gadgets nowadays.

Are you one of those people who wouldn't know what to do when your ride is suddenly swerves uncontrollably? Thankfully, the technology to stop this chaotic situation is here. This system monitors your speed, steering wheel usage, how you turn, and it calculates the likelihood of a slide. If loss of traction is approaching, the system takes over to avoid a possible disaster.

Available on a wide number of new cars, this technology uses black and white cameras and LIDAR to determine the distance from you to the vehicle in front of you. LIDAR is laser radar that sends out a signal that pings or bounces off objects in front of you to determine speed and distance. The driver presets following distance and afterwards sets trip speed using the trip control function. If someone in front of you speeds up, you will also speed up to the preset speed. If someone in front of you brakes or decelerates, you will decelerate as well. Some systems allow the driver to resume control, and some systems will bring the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary.

This feature is designed to warn a driver when they begin to move out of their lane unless a turn signal is on. This system uses video sensors, lasers, and infrared sensors to determine when your vehicle drifts across the road in either a left or right direction and afterwards warns you accordingly.

With all of these new gadgets out there, you could be thinking this could be too much to handle. If it's been a few years since you bought a new vehicle, you may not even know keyless entry, GPS navigation, anti-lock brakes, or other new systems. Take a drive to your nearest dealership to see what new cars they have to offer.

Consumers often watch out for car dealers. The common consensus is that salesmen set out to deplete pocketbooks and offer disadvantageous prices to their customers. This assumption is far from the truth, however. Dealers expect and welcome their customers' negotiation, and they look forward to striking deals that allow both sides to prosper. The negotiation ball is in the consumer's court. It's up to the consumer to know ways to negotiate to find the most effective outcome possible. The following are three necessary tactics to keep in mind when sealing the deal over a vehicle.
